About Keegan Eichelman

Keegan Eichelman's imagination runs away with her every day and the results end up on paper. She is a believer in the extraordinary and an avid supporter of the imagination. She plans to publish an avalanche of books this year. A Bit of My Writing Story...

I've been a writer since I was very young; my mind just always came up with stories. I wrote these stories and shared them with a few, close friends in high school. I even shared them with my parents when I decided to play the "get the big publishing house on your side" game and submitted one of my first novels to publishers in high school. I was so sure that I'd get a publishing contract packet back in the mail—a packet, not a letter. Letters meant 'no'.

I got all letters.

I kept the five novels I’d written carefully stacked away—some hand-written in a combination of notebooks and others typed on beautiful, white sheets of printing paper, organized in folders by book. I figured one day I was going to polish them up. Someday, I would publish them…or, at the very least, read them to my kids.

But, it seemed, life had a different idea. I was hurled into a line of desk jobs after college. It’d been years since I’d last looked at my books. It’d been years since I last wrote. In a fit of frustration one day, I pulled those novels out of the careful stacks in my shelving.

I threw all of them in the trash.

In January 2019, my muse spoke to me again. I started writing again. I have decided that I will NOT stop this time.

We've all had moments in life where we've doubted ourselves. Where fear catches up with us; it makes us do crazy things. I threw out 5 perfectly fine novels! Maybe you've had a similar experience.

Today, I propose that we step out of our doubts and fears. What would happen if we all chose to embrace our uniqueness and what we've been called to in life?

I am a writer; the stories pour out of me.

I am an artist and I create beautiful things.

I love helping others.

I was made for this.

What do you love?

What were you made for?

Heart

Keegan
