Some background: this book is more than a book to me. Sure, it has the adventure of the Princess Bride, the magic of The Chronicles of Narnia, the zombies of the Walking Dead, the sass and humor of the Princess Diaries, the gamer feel of Jumanji and the lady knight vibe of Tamora Pierce's work but...but to me, it's about what this book has done. It's personal. This book is an expression of my own struggles and, ironically, through putting it out in the world, I became the opposite of those struggles.

I became confident in my own writing.

I began querying again after I'd put that down when I was a teen.

I learned that it was more than okay to be myself and put myself out in the public eye more on social media.

This book taught me so much.
